About the event

Peter Kayawe is a Mechanical and Sustainable Energy Engineer with over 11 years of experience. He began his career in Zambia’s Copper Mining Industry as a Mechanical Engineer and transitioned to the energy sector, joining ZESCO’s Generation Projects and Planning Division. Over the past seven years, he has contributed to the planning and implementation of sustainable energy projects, including hydropower developments ranging from 10MW to 750MW. A Chevening Scholar with a Master’s degree in Sustainable Energy Technologies from the University of Southampton, Peter has also gained international exposure through an internship in the UK’s Midlands, where he developed expertise in bioenergy and wind technologies. His work extends to solar and wind energy planning, as well as bioenergy project design.

 

Peter is a passionate climate change advocate, having spoken at the 2024 Regional Conference of Youth Southern Africa (RCOY2024) on renewable energy investments and collaboration strategies. He is currently focused…
